Are you currently printing prescriptions, requisitions, and consultations to be able to fax them? Are staff at your clinic spending countless hours going through received faxes, scanning them, then uploading them to your EMR each week? What if there was a way to cut down on the extra time spent on those tasks and save on paper and toner?

Did you know that Juno EMR offers integrations with two eFaxing providers: SRFax.com and Ring Central? When enabled and configured, these integrations allow you to receive incoming faxes directly into your general inbox, and to fax out prescriptions, eForms, consultations and documents. It is a fantastic way to improve efficiency in your clinic!

How do I get started?

You will be using your own account for this integration. If you do not have an account with SRFax.com or Ring Central, then your very first step will be to choose your eFaxing provider and get an account with them. As needed, coordinate with them to plan a fax number port to connect your existing fax route to their service.

Note: Setting up the account and maintaining it is the clinic’s responsibility; Juno EMR is not involved in that aspect of the setup. This is between you and your chosen eFaxing provider.

I have my eFaxing account, what now?

Ready to connect your eFaxing account with Juno EMR? Great! The steps below will allow all your system administrators to configure your eFaxing integration.

Access the 'Fax Account' Page

  1. In Juno EMR, navigate to your Administration Panel by clicking on ‘Admin’ (Juno UI) or ‘Administration’ (Classic UI) at the top of the screen.
    • Note: If you are using a small screen resolution, the ‘Admin’ option in the Juno UI may be located under the ‘More’ menu. Click on ‘More’, then click on ‘Admin’ to open the administration panel.

  2. On the left, click on ‘Faxes’ to expand that part of the menu, then click on the ‘Fax Configuration’ option to open fact configuration page.

  3. Click on the appropriate ‘Connect’ button, based on your eFaxing service provider. ‘Connect SRFax’ will allow you to add an SRFax account while ‘Connect RingCentral’ will add a Ring Central account.

Note: If you have never used the eFaxing integrations with us before, the feature may be disabled in your EMR. If that is the case, you will see an error message as shown in the screenshot below. Send us an email to [email protected], and we will happily turn it on for you!

Connect to your eFaxing provider.

A. SRFax
Fill in the ‘Fax Account Setting’ overlay which opens when you click on the ‘Connect SRFax’ button. The overlay looks like this:

  1. Enable Integration – Allows you to enable and disable a specific account. A blue toggle means the integration is enabled.

  2. Account Information – Enter your SRFax account number in the ‘Account Number’ field. Enter your SRFax password in the ‘Password’ field, then type in the name you want associated with this fax account in your EMR.

  3. Enable Outgoing Faxes – Allows you to enable and disable outgoing faxing for this specific account. A blue toggle means the integration is enabled.

  4. Outgoing Faxing Details – If you are enabling the outgoing faxing, add the email associated with your SRFax account in the ‘Notification Email’ field. Type in the fax number you want displayed on your faxes’ header in the ‘Response Fax Number’, then select the SRFax cover letter you would like to attach automatically to all your outbound faxes.

Note: The ‘Response Fax Number’ required a 10-digit fax number such as ‘2502223333’. Do not put a ‘1’ in front of your fax number, even if your number is a toll-free number. This will prevent the integration from working correctly.

  5. Enable Incoming Faxes – Allows you to enable and disable inbound faxing for this specific account. A blue toggle means the integration is enabled while a gray toggle means it is disabled.

  6. Connection Status – Once you are done filling the form, click on the ‘Test Connection’ button. The system will attempt to connect to SRFax with the credentials you provided. If the connection is successful, move on to the next step. If not, review the information you entered on the previous steps before testing your connection again.

  7. Save – Once your connection test is successful, click on the ‘Save’ button to save your SRFax account details.

B. RingCentral
Clicking on the ‘Connect RingCentral’ button will open a RingCentral login page. Enter your credentials, then login. Once you are logged in to RingCentral, you will be prompted to authorize Juno EMR to access your account. Follow the instructions on the screen until you are brought back to Juno EMR where the following overlay will appear:
