Whether you are working out of a clinic with multiple phone and fax lines, working at a different location or simply trying to figure out why your address is incorrect on your prescriptions and consultations, understanding where your address, phone and fax numbers are populating from can save you many headaches and make your life much easier.

This guide introduces the various sections this information can be entered in and the logic that determines which piece of information is displayed on your prescription and consultation request headers.

A. Clinic Details

The most common way to populate those details is to rely on the Clinic Details page out of the administration panel. You can find more information on how to update the address by consulting our guide on the topic here.

B. User Settings / Preferences

You can configure your user setting or preferences to overwrite the clinic address with an address of your choice. This can be done in both the Juno and the Classic interfaces by following these steps:

Juno Interface

  1. At the top left of the screen, click on your name to open the menu, then click on ‘User Settings’.
  2. Navigate to the ‘General tab which is located among the navigation tabs under the ‘User Settings’ blue header bar.
  3. Type in the address, phone and fax details you would like to overwrite on your prescriptions and consultation requests.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the ‘Save All Settings’ button to save the changes.

Classic Interface

  1. Click on ‘Preferences’ at the top of the page to open the preferences menu.
  2. Scroll down and locate the following links:
    • Set Address (RX/Consult)
    • Set Phone Number (RX/Consult)
    • Set Fax Number (RX/Consult)
  3. Click on the link associated with the piece of information you want to overwrite.
  4. Type in the details in the available text field(s).
  5. Click on the ‘Submit’ button to save the changes. Repeat with each link as needed.

C. User Provider Record

Adding an address, phone and fax number to your user provider record will overwrite both the clinic details and your preferences.

How does Juno determine which section to populate the address, phone, and fax number from?

When determining which address and contact information to display on prescriptions and consultation requests, Juno EMR goes through the following steps:

  1. Does the user have an address in their provider record?
    1. YES – Use this information on prescriptions and consultation requests.
    2. NO – Move on to next step.
  2. Does the user have set an overwrite in their user settings / preferences?
    1. YES – Use this information on prescriptions and consultation requests.
    2. NO – Move on to next step.
  3. Use the clinic details to populate the address, phone and fax number on prescriptions and consultation requests.

This means that your provider record information will always take precedence over everything else. Your user settings/preferences will take precedence over the clinic details while the clinic details will be used only if no other address could be found.

If you have recently updated your clinic details but are still seeing your old address on prescriptions and consultations, check your provider record and user settings/preferences as you most likely have an overwrite configured.

I am using a multisite installation. Does this change where my information is populated from?

Yes, it does! When multisite is enabled, you will be able to select the address to associate with your prescriptions and consultations requests using a dropdown menu. This dropdown menu is populated using the list of sites you have been assigned to in your provider record. If you are only working at one location, that location will automatically be selected for you though!

User settings / preferences do not impact the address, phone, and fax number when multisite is enabled.
